Mosquito Control / Spraying

Before Mosquito Spraying

Before mosquito spraying can be done, the State of Texas requires the following weather conditions be present:

  • Winds must be less than 10 miles per hour
  • It can not be raining
  • Drying time after raining is required

To have your neighborhood sprayed for mosquitoes, please call 940-552-9961 between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m, Monday through Friday, or email.

Caution: If you or any member of your family is sensitive to chemicals, you may call the number above and request that your area of the neighborhood not be sprayed routinely. Spraying campaigns start the next day after rainfall events, and includes covering all areas within City limits twice.

Mosquito Control and Eradication

  • Keep all outside containers empty from water. Still water in a container, bird bath, flower pot, etc. are breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
  • Mosquito eggs lay dormant in grass, on shrubs, etc. until a rain shower passes through and activates the egg. The mosquito larvae can grow into a mosquito within 48 hours after a rainfall event.
  • Old tires disposed of on empty lots are a great environment for supporting the life cycle of mosquitoes.
  • Deep, tall, and think grass are the ideal environment for supporting the life cycle of mosquitoes.
